Open Access does not imply that there is no copyright attached to the published document; the authors retain their own copyright and all rights not specifically granted to the publisher. The last version of our publisher-author agreement aspires to be an author-friendly agreement with respect to authors’ rights and dissemination of their intellectual work.
With Research-publishing.net, manuscripts are published under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives International (CC BY-NC-ND) licence. Under this licence, the contents are freely available online (as PDF files) for anybody to read, download, copy, and redistribute provided that the author(s), editorial team and publisher are properly cited. Commercial use and derivative works are, however, not permitted.
Copyright in each separate manuscript to a collective work (e.g. edited books, proceedings, journals) is distinct from copyright in the collective work as a whole, which constitutes an original work of authorship, and therefore is copyrightable as a collection. The author retains copyright and all rights in his/her own article not specifically granted to the publisher; the publisher retains copyright and all rights in the work as a whole.
